The workshop will take place in Room "Sala Consiglio" of the Physics Department (Dipartimento di Fisica) of Milan's University, located in

Via Celoria 16, 20133 Milano.

HOW TO GET THERE

By metro

The closest metro stations to the Department are:

• Piola (line M2): 10 mins walking to the Department.
• Lambrate (line M2): 15 mins walking, or 4 stops by bus line 93.
• Argonne (line M4): 15 mins walking, or 3 stops by bus line 93.

You can pay your tickets using a contactless bank card, via a dedicated app, or buying tickets at the automatic machines at the entrance of every station. Vintage kiosks are also an option.

By bus

The bus line 93 stops in via Ponzio, very close to the Department entrance (bus stop "Via Celoria - Istituto Besta", both ways).

The same ticket allows you to travel on buses, metro lines, local trains. For details, see https://www.atm.it.

By train

The closest railway station is Milano Lambrate (piazza Bottini). From there you can directly walk (15 mins) or take the bus (line 93, 4 stops).

From the railway stations Milano Centrale, Milano Porta Garibaldi, and Milano Cadorna take the M2 underground line to Piola (walk from there)or Lambrate (walk or bus).

By plane

By far, the nearest airport to the Department is Milano Linate. From the airport take the metro to Argonne station (line M4, 6 mins) and walk or take the bus from there.

From Milano Orio al Serio (Bergamo) there are buses to Milano Lambrate railway station (50 mins approx). The most frequent buses however are for Milano Centrale railway station (1h approx).

From Milano Malpensa  there are buses to Milano Centrale railway station (1h approx) and the Malpensa Express train to Milano Cadorna railway station (40 min) and Milano Centrale railway station (1 h). 

By car

From the eastern part of the motorway ring (Tangenziale Est) take Lambrate exit or Rubattino exit. Then use the above map to get to via Celoria.

ACCOMMODATION

The area close to the Physics Department is in general a safe area, you can search for an accommodation nearby. Any area between the Department and the city center, including the latter, is also a good option with plenty of accommodations at disposal.
